City Council to Talk Downtown Parking

Amarillo City Councilmembers will discuss parking in downtown Amarillo during a meeting on Tuesday.

According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, the Amarillo City Council is planning to receive a presentation during a work session on downtown parking. The presentation will likely address parking around the downtown parking garage, the baseball field and the Amarillo Civic Center. Councilmembers are planning to receive presentations on Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI Metering) during the work session.

During the regular meeting, Councilmembers will approve contracts for travel services with Lyft and Uber, an $8.57 million sewer replacement in Hillside Terrace and a $2.4 million fire station construction project. Southwest General Contractors will receive the award on that item.

Councilmembers will meet on Tuesday, July 17th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The work session will begin at 3pm and the regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 5pm.
