APD Investigating Fatal Crash at Northeast 24th and Grand

Amarillo Police are investigating a fatal crash that left one person dead on Saturday.

According to APD, officers were dispatched to Northeast 24th and North Grand on a vehicle collision on June 16th at 11:45am. A 2012 Chevrolet truck, driven by a 17-year-old male, was westbound on Northeast 24th, turning southbound on North Grand. A 2005 Toyota Camry driven by a 17-year-old male was eastbound on Northeast 24th. The Chevrolet struck the Toyota and both vehicles then struck a 2017 Nissan Versa, driven by a 54-year-old male, that was sitting at a red light.

The passenger in the Toyota, Mo Lai Chun, a 62-year-old female, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. A juvenile passenger in the Chevrolet was uninjured. All three drivers were uninjured.

Judge Gary Jackson has ordered an autopsy. This incident is under investigation by APD.
