Free Lunches for Children Available During Summer

"On Wednesday, May 30, free lunch meals to any child under the age of 18 will be provided as part of the 2018 Summer Lunch Program. Meals will be served at 60 sites throughout the City of Amarillo including schools, city parks, and community centers at no cost or registration required.

The Summer Lunch Program is administered by the City and is funded through the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). The mission of the Summer Lunch Program is to meet the needs of the 67% of students in Amarillo (22,596 children) who qualify for free or reduced lunches during the school year who may experience food insecurity during the summer months when school is not in session.
