'Grease' Coming Back to Amarillo Movie Theaters

The classic hit musical film "Grease" is coming back to Amarillo theaters next month.

On April 8th, April 11th and April 14th, "Grease" will return to Amarillo's big screen as part of the Turner Classic Movies series. The 1978 musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John will be celebrating 40 years since its first appearance in cinemas when it returns to Amarillo theaters next month.

"Grease" follows greaser Danny and good girl Sandy, who fell in love over the summer, but discover that they are in the same high school. The film has become a cultural icon since its release and was nominated for one Academy Award for Newton-John's "Grease" hit, "Hopelessly Devoted to You."

The film will play at the Cinemark Hollywood 16 and UA Amarillo Star theaters in Amarillo on the announced dates.
