City Zoning Board Considering 'Special Exception' for McCartt

The City of Amarillo's Zoning Board of Adjustment is considering allowing a special zoning exception for applicant Joe Bob McCartt during a meeting to be held this week.

According to an agenda for the Zoning Board of Adjustment's meeting, the board will consider allowing a "special exception" for Joe Bob McCartt. McCartt is representing property owner WSQ Investors, LP.

The "special exception," if approved, would allow McCartt to reduce the number of off-street parking by 20 spaces at the development of 1619 S. Kentucky. The area of the WSQ Investors, LP property is currently zoned Planned Development.

Also during the meeting, the board will consider granting a zoning exception for Sinclair Communications/KVII. The television station is seeking an exception to the Downtown Urban Design Standards that would allow them to construct a chain-link security fence.

The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue) on Thursday, February 8th. The meeting will begin at 4:30pm, following a 30 minute work session.
