"The City of Amarillo’s Environmental Health department will hold a two-day Pool Technician Certification class on Monday, Feb. 26 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. By City ordinance, all permitted pools in Amarillo are required to have a Certified Pool Technician who is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the public pool to ensure safety standards are met. The class will cover:
Public pool facility, equipment, signage, and safety requirements
Water sanitation, balance, and corrective actions
The responsibilities of the Certified Pool Technician
Applicants are encouraged to pre-register as class size is limited. Those interested may register until the first day of class by calling (806) 378-9472 during weekday normal business hours or in person at the Environmental Health department offices located in the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S.
