Randall Sees High Turnout on First Day of Early Voting

Randall County voters went to the polls in large numbers on Tuesday during the first day of early voting.

According to information released by the Randall County Elections office, 727 voters cast ballots on the first day of early voting in Randall County. The numbers show that the top polling place in the area was the Randall County Annex, where 318 voters cast ballots. Large numbers of voters also cast ballots at the Randall County Justice Center in Canyon and at the Region 16 Education Support Center in Amarillo.

Meanwhile, in Potter County, voting occurred at a much slower pace on the first day of early voting. On Tuesday, 383 Potter County voters cast ballots. The top polling place for Potter County was the Santa Fe Building where 197 voters cast ballots on the first day.

In addition to early voting numbers, 511 mail-in ballots have been received in Potter County and 766 have been received in Randall County.

There are no numbers released yet that indicate how many voters voted in the Republican primary versus the Democratic primary in either county.

Early voting runs through March 2nd. Election day is March 6th.
