APD Releases Name of Suspect in Faith City Hostage Incident

The Amarillo Police Department has released the name of the suspect who was involved in a hostage incident at the Faith City Mission on Wednesday.

According to authorities, the suspect involved in the hostage incident at the Faith City Mission in downtown Amarillo has been identified as Joshua Len Jones, 35. Jones, who reported that he resides at an Amarillo address, was taken into custody at the scene. Jones was booked into the Potter County Detention Center and is being charged with six counts of aggravated kidnapping.

In addition, APD announced that the man who was shot by police at the scene is still in the hospital. The injured man has not been identified and his injuries are non-life threatening.

No other person was injured in the incident.
