Texas Nationalists Back Herman in Re-Election Bid

The Texas Nationalist Movement announced this morning that it is backing local Justice of the Peace Richard Herman in his bid for re-election.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Texas Nationalist Movement named Herman in its list of statewide endorsements, saying that Herman will be committed to the principles of the organization.

According to a survey Herman filled out to be considered for the TNM's endorsement, Judge Herman said that he sought the group's endorsement because he is committed to liberty and the people.

"...I am a strong supporter of the people, and still think we have the right to Life, Liberty, and Freedom," Herman said in his statement.

In other regional elections, the group also threw its weight behind Jason Huddleston in the District 88 State Representative election. Huddleston is running to unseat incumbent Ken King. Former Perryton Independent School District trustee Richard Beyea is also running.

Herman is facing Amarillo College police officer Robert Taylor in the March 6th Republican primary. The winner of the Republican nomination will face Democrat Claudia Griego in November.
