APD: Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Authorities say a stolen truck and boat have been recovered in Amarillo.

On November 5th, authorities say Shawn O’Connell noticed his 2019 Ford F350 and his 2018 Triton boat were missing from his hotel. The vehicles and other stolen property were valued at approximately $300,000.

That afternoon, officers were dispatched to the 7700 block of I-40 on the report of a shoplifter. Officers arrested Jamie Luna on a charge of Theft of property <$100 with a previous conviction and for Debit/Credit card abuse. While searching Luna, officers say they recovered approximately $1,000 in cash and other property that appeared to belong to O’Connell. Officers also noticed a key, which was collected with Luna’s property, and it was determined the key was to the F350. Officers also say they found paperwork belonging to O’Connell and a key to the boat.

Officers went back to 7700 block of I-40 and located the F350. The boat was located a short time later in the 900 block of Cleveland.
