Taylor: Looking Forward to January 1st

By Robert Taylor, Potter County Justice of the Peace-elect

As the holiday season approaches with Thanksgiving upon us and Christmas just around the corner I would like to express how thankful I am for family and friends. We live in a country like no other. Freedoms that few offer and yet some take them for granted unless they are affected directly. Freedom is not free! Many have fought and died for the comforts we enjoy. I ask that all give a special prayer for those who are past, current or future defenders of the American way, the Veteran.

I’m thankful for the freedom to run for a political office and to be elected as your Justice of the Peace, Precinct II of Potter County. I give thanks to those who supported my candidacy and those who didn’t. It is my hope we come together as one united group to accomplish what is for the good for all. After nearly 35 years of law enforcement I am ready to face the new challenges of my elected office. Some items will be new while others a continuation of the past. I ask your prayers for guidance and direction in assisting for a good transition to the office. There are numerous cases to be completed, travel and training sessions to learn and an office to put together to better serve you, the public and citizens, who come before it. I am up for the challenge and look forward to serving you come January 1st. Thanks to my precinct, my community, friends and family, but mostly to God for allowing me to serve.

Have a great Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. Safe travels through the holiday season.
