City Council to Hold Public Hearing on Transit Fees Hike

The costs to use public transit in Amarillo may soon be going up.

On Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will host a public hearing on a transit fare study. Councilmembers are expected to accept the results of the study, and direct staff to research implementation of changes to transit in Amarillo. It is unclear what kind of rate increase is expected on the proposed changes, but information from a press release indicates the proposed changes will include a fee hike of some sort.

During the public hearing, residents are invited to attend the meeting and sound off on the proposals.

Councilmembers will hold the public hearing on Tuesday at 1PM in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue).
