Euthanasia was up and live release was down during the month of September at Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare.
According to numbers released by the department, Animal Management & Welfare reported a euthanasia rate of 42.4 percent during the month of September, while also reporting a 57.6 percent live release rate. The numbers also reflected a lower overall intake compared to previous months, with 783 animals coming in during September.
Overall, the numbers reflected higher euthanasia rates than in August 2018 or in September 2017. The numbers also reflected a lower live release rate compared to the previous two months.
