Willie Nelson Show at Civic Center Selling Quick

Tickets for the Willie Nelson and Family concert at the Amarillo Civic Center in March are flying off the shelves.

Nelson's planned appearance at the Civic Center on March 13th saw its tickets go on sale this morning at noon. Hundreds of tickets were immediately sold both online and at the box office. Fans of Willie Nelson and classic music shelled out hundreds of dollars for seats close to the stage and around $40 in the back of the arena.

Jimmy Pressley Hammons, a fan and self-proclaimed "lookalike" of Willie Nelson, was one of about 50 Amarillo residents who packed out the Civic Center ahead of the noon ticket sale time. Hammons says he decided to purchase Nelson tickets because of his support of "real Texas music."

"He's a Texas legend," Hammons said. "If you don't like Willie then you're not from Texas."

Tickets remain on sale for Willie Nelson's show through the Amarillo Civic Center Box Office's official website, panhandletickets.com.
