City of Amarillo to Host PACE Service Provider Training

"On Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the City of Amarillo’s PACE program administrator, Texas PACE Authority, will host a service provider training in room 275 of the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan. The workshop is targeted towards engineers and contractors in the energy/water efficiency and clean energy space sectors, but is open to anyone interested in learning how the Texas Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (TX-PACE) program benefits Texas communities, businesses and property owners. Attendees will learn how to use the program to finance energy efficiency, water conservation, resiliency, and distributed generation improvements.

TX-PACE is a proven financial tool that enables Texas property owners to upgrade facility infrastructure with little-or-no upfront capital outlay. The program is designed so that owners lower their operating costs and pay for eligible improvements with the savings generated, taking advantage of affordable, long-term financing.

The Amarillo City Council approved the PACE program for use in the city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) on September 5, 2017. There are no city funds involved in this program, as projects are funded by private dollars where property owners interested in the program select their own capital provider. TX-PACE can be used to pay for new heating and cooling systems, lighting improvements, solar panels, water pumps, insulation and more, for almost any property  - commercial, industrial, agricultural, nonprofit and multifamily.

To register for the training, please visit https://goo.gl/rbDNhy to access the Eventbrite page. Cost for the training is $50. Lunch is provided and participants will receive a copy of the program guidelines. Attendees are also eligible for a complimentary basic C-PACE listing on the Texas Green Building Marketplace website.

For more information, please contact Regional Program Manager Bridget Branch at (855) 738-7223. To learn more about the PACE program, please visit https://www.texaspaceauthority.org/."
