Amarillo Native Musician Launches Whiskey

John Rich, a country musician with roots in Amarillo, has launched a brand new whiskey company.

Rich's new whiskey, Redneck Riviera Whiskey, was announced in December of 2017 and has slowly been making its way across the southeast United States. On Twitter this week, Rich told a fan that the whiskey will be coming to the direction of Oklahoma and Texas in the coming months.

"It's a 'state by state' launch," Rich wrote on Twitter. "We're starting mainly in the south east, but rapidly moving into the rest of the USA in 2018!"

Redneck Riviera, Rich's lifestyle brand, says that the whiskey is small batch and includes a "vanilla honey smoothness and a subtle oak finish." The whiskey was also approved by Rich's grandmother, according to Taste of Country.

John Rich is a country musician, originally from Amarillo, Texas. Rich gained notoriety as a member of country group Lonestar and eventually as a member of the duo Big & Rich. Along with Big Kenny, Rich has been releasing music under the Big & Rich name for several years and gained popularity with the smash-hit "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)."
