Hand Joins Race for Potter County Court at Law

Matthew Hand has joined the race for Potter County Court at Law #2.

In a Facebook post last night, Hand announced that he would be running for the bench currently held by Judge Pamela Sirmon. In his post, Hand said, "I believe my experience has prepared me to be the type of Judge Potter County deserves."

Hand is an attorney and stakeholder at Brown & Fortunato P.C. Hand will not be the first candidate to have run as an attorney at the law firm. During 2017's elections, Alfonso Zambrano and Michele Fortunato, both attorneys at Brown & Fortunato, sought seats on the Amarillo College board of regents.

It is not clear whether Sirmon has plans to seek re-election to the bench.

Other potential candidates include Judge Jeremy Fowler and Judge Morris Overstreet.
