Deadline for Voter Registration Approaching

Residents hoping to make their voices heard in the upcoming state constitutional amendment elections and school bond elections have a limited amount of time left to register to vote.

Residents planning to vote in the upcoming Amarillo Independent School District bond election, Texas constitutional amendment elections and Potter County special elections must be registered to vote by October 10th. Voters who do not register by October 10th will be unable to vote in the November election.

In order to be eligible to register to vote, a resident must be at least 17 years and 10 month old (provided that the voter will be 18 by election day), the voter must be a United States citizen, must not be a convicted felon who has not completed a sentence, probation and parole, and must not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
