Motorcycle Involved in Crash Downtown

A motorcycle was involved in a collision last night that sent the driver to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were dispatched to Southeast 9th Avenue and South Fillmore, last night, on the report of a collision. When officers arrived, they found that a 1995 Mazda four door driven by Stephanie Jud Devora-Galindo, 22, had struck the back of a motorcycle that was parked at a red light.

Marc Montoya, 28, was the driver of the motorcycle. Montoya was taken to the local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Montoya was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The collision is being investigated by Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
