Members of the City of Amarillo local government corporation gave the green light for the design of the upcoming multi-purpose event venue.
In a unanimous vote, members of the LGC voted to approve the design that was hailed as receiving the most feedback in user surveys. Members of the LGC voted for the design that will feature pillars and a grey facade.
Councilmember Eddy Sauer, who serves on the LGC, praised the design as a "great choice" and thanked those who participated in the survey.
"Thanks to everyone who voted. Your voice was heard." Sauer wrote on Facebook.
The ballpark is set for completion in the spring of 2019.
