Mayweather vs. McGregor Draws Huge Crowds at Amarillo Restaurants

Hundreds of Amarillo residents packed bars and restaurants around Amarillo on Saturday night to watch the "fight of the century" between UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and former WBC champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

At the Buffalo Wild Wings at 9511 Interstate 40, standing room only was the state of affairs as boxing fans began packing the restaurant at 6pm, nearly five hours before the main event fight. The room was a colorful array of McGregor and Mayweather fans sporting merchandise from their favorite fighters. The bar and restaurant areas of the establishment were packed and fans lined the walls of the restaurant to watch the MMA fighter debut against the 49-0 boxing champion.

Tickets also sold out at local movie theaters and fans paid cover charges at Hooters, Fast Eddie's and Bodega's to watch the superfight.

In the end, Mayweather fans went home pleased after seeing "Money" win by TKO in the 10th round of the fight. Critics later declared that the match was much more exciting than originally expected, with McGregor winning the judges' cards for the first round and splitting opinions on the next few rounds.

It is not clear whether a Mayweather vs. McGregor rematch will take place. However, if it did, Amarillo restaurants could expect larger crowds and even more profits for the "2nd Fight of the Century."
