APD Asking for Help from Community on Welfare Check

The Amarillo Police Department is seeking help from the Amarillo community on a welfare check of a female who has been assaulted.

APD reports that last night officers were dispatched to a call at the 6800 block of IH-40 West on the report of a female being assaulted. According to APD, a witness observed a bald white male assaulting a female in a parking lot at this location. Witnesses reported that the female was able to get away from the male and run on foot.

Officers searched the location and have not located the female.

The suspect vehicle is described as a late 1990's to early 2000's beige four door Buick car. The female is described as a white female in her 20's and having brown hair. She was wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and tennis shoes.

Anyone with details is asked to call the Amarillo Police Department.
