APD: One Arrested for Deadly Conduct

"On July 2nd, 2017, at 1:38 PM, officers were sent to 205 East Hastings, #A, on a person who was outside that apartment yelling at someone and shooting a gun. A caller reported that two bullets had penetrated a wall of her home in the same group of apartments, and she could hear someone outside yelling. A second call came in from witnesses that reported a male with no shirt outside the residence, firing a handgun. No witness saw a second person present or involved.

Officers arrived and were in the area between the small houses in that block when they heard a shot from inside apartment A. A few moments later, the shirtless male walked out onto the porch of apartment A. He was carrying a handgun. Officers ordered the man to put the gun down. He placed the gun on top of an air conditioning unit but would not comply with their directions to move to get him away from the gun. Officers used a Taser to take him into custody. They took custody of the loaded 9mm handgun.

A search of the home also produced a rifle. They found an expended 9mm cartridge case in the back bedroom of the home but could not determine what had been shot inside the home. Officers spoke to the two people in the nearby apartment that was hit by the two shots. They saw the shots come through the interior room of the home and both of them got on the floor.

No one was injured by the gunfire. Jimmy Don Bowling age 64 was taken to the Potter County Detention Center and booked for deadly conduct by discharging a firearm at the occupied building."
