A fire at Virdinski's Rub Shack caused $10,000 in damages, according to the Amarillo Fire Department.
AFD crews were dispatched to Virdinski's Rub Shack at 3701 Olsen at 11:59am on Friday on the report of a fire. Crews arrived and found light smoke coming from the area of the roof. Employees had reported that a fire had begun on the grill and extended through the vent hood. Employees had attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher but had not contained all of the fire.
Crews entered the building and accessed the roof to search for additional fire. Additional fire was located in the hood and was extinguished. Damage was contained to the grill, the vent hood and the ceiling around the vent hood.
The fire was called under control at 12:09pm. Damages have been estimated at $10,000.
