The Texas House of Representatives voted today to reduce the fee for a handgun carry license.
The Texas House voted 111-30 to approve the proposal, following the addition of an amendment that would waive the fee for peace officers. Under the new proposal, first time registration and renewal of license will be $40. Currently, the fees are $140 and $70, respectively.
Area representatives Four Price and John Smithee both voted for approval.
