APD Responds to Facebook Video

The Amarillo Police Department addressed a video that is floating around social media.

APD said in a statement today that the video, which reportedly shows an explicit act, has caused several unnecessary calls to Amarillo's emergency communications. A comment on social media reportedly started the controversy when it claimed that the event occurred in Amarillo.

"There is no evidence or indication that this happened in Amarillo, no information to establish that it is a sexual assault, and nothing to identify the people involved." APD said in the statement.

"When viewing social media, keep in mind that information provided may not be as presented, may be dated, or may have happened in another city or country or have previously been investigated."
