WTAMU to Open Baseball, Softball Seasons

West Texas A&M University's baseball and softball squads are announcing information regarding their upcoming season openers.

Through WTAMU's athletics website, gobuffsgo.com, WT announced that the baseball and softball squads will be opening their seasons, tomorrow. While WTAMU's baseball team will be playing at a tournament at New Mexico Highlands University, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the softball team will be playing in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The WT baseball season officially opens at 2pm on Friday, as the Buffs will begin a 3-game series. The game is highly anticipated, as the Buffs look to top the Lone Star Conference, this year. The Buffs baseball team is currently ranked third in preseason polling for the Lone Star Conference.

WTAMU's softball team will also be busy on Friday. The Lady Buffs are looking to dominate at the Desert Stinger Invite in Las Vegas, Nevada. WTAMU's softball squad will be taking on Stanislaus State, Cal Baptist, New Mexico Highlands, Augustana and Sioux Falls during their opening weekend. The Buffs softball team is currently ranked fourth.

That tournament will be played at Majestic Park, in Las Vegas.
