APD Arrests "Fugitive of the Week"

"On 2-9-17, at about 4:40 PM, APD, PACE and SWAT officers were attempting to locate the Amarillo Crime Stoppers Fugitive of the week.

They developed information that Kevin Lopez was in the 3800 block of SE 14th Avenue. Officers saw Lopez approaching a vehicle there and tried to detain him. He fled on foot, and was arrested near 13th and S. Hill. Officers found that he was carrying two clear plastic bags that contained what appeared to be narcotics, another that contained a small amount marijuana, and a glass smoking pipe.

Lopez was transported to the Potter County Detention Center.

He was booked for the following charges: two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group I (under one gram), Evading arrest, Possession of Marijuana (under two ounces), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also booked for the warrant for bond surrender on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group I (over 4 but under 200 grams), a second count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group I (under one gram), and a third charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon."
