Bushland Independent School District is set to have a new superintendent following a vote by the school district's trustees this week.
Earlier this week, Bushland ISD trustees voted unanimously to hire Big Spring ISD superintendent Chris Wigington to become the new superintendent for the district. Wigington was previously chosen as the sole finalist for the job last month.
Wigington is coming to Bushland ISD after serving as the superintendent of Big Spring Independent School District since 2014. Wigington will replace the outgoing superintendent of Bushland ISD, Don Wood.
Wigington is expected to assume the duties of the superintendent next month.
