Jubilee Apostolic Church Hosts Live Nativity

The Jubilee Apostolic Church in Amarillo is hosting a live nativity that is drawing people of all generations.

Located on Bell Street near Interstate 40, the Jubilee Apostolic Church (5804 Erik Avenue) is hosting its annual live nativity as part of its Christmas-time festivities. The church has been operating the live nativity since December 17th and is currently scheduled to continue hosting the nativity until December 24th.

Nathan Carrington, pastor of the Jubilee Apostolic Church, says that this is the second year that the Church has been operating the live nativity scene on Bell Street.

"Last year I decided that we should try it and see what happens," Carrington said. "It was just such a rewarding response...we had thousands come through our church last year. So, here we are again this year."

Carrington also says that the meaning of the live nativity is something very important for the children of Amarillo.

"We want children to have a visual of what Christmas is really about," Carrington told the Amarillo Pioneer. "There are a lot of stories around Christmas time and to not only know the story of Jesus but to interact with the story of Jesus is something we try to do."

The live nativity will be continuing until December 24th in Amarillo. On Christmas Eve, the Jubilee Apostolic Church will be hosting a candlelight service with its live nativity. That will begin at 6:30pm.
