City Posts Dumpster Stickers in Hopes to Cut Down Waste

Members of the Amarillo City Council gathered in alleys in southwest Amarillo on Monday to unveil new stickers that will be placed on dumpsters in Amarillo.

On Monday, the City of Amarillo began placing large stickers on dumpsters around the city, reminding residents of the new procedures for picking up solid waste. The large green stickers on dumpsters remind residents to place large, bulky items on curbs and schedule pickup.

Other more commercial items, including concrete slabs, doors and carpeting, must be taken to the landfill.

Fees will be assessed to non-residents using the landfill for any types of drop offs. It is unclear whether residents must pay a fee for the drop off of commercial items.

To schedule pickup, call 806-378-6813.

For information about the landfill, call 806-359-2056.
