Interim City Manager Terry Childers' letter of resignation to the City of Amarillo has been released.
In the short letter, Childers tells Mayor Paul Harpole to accept the letter as his "formal notice to terminate employment." According to the letter, Childers lists his last day of employment as December 16, 2016.
The letter head list the letter as being from "The Childers Group."
Childers resigned following an incident where he called Amarillo resident James Schenck a "stupid son of a bitch."
