Why did you decide to run for this office in 2026?

“I’m running for reelection because Texas agriculture deserves a fighter who never quits. I’ve spent my life standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with the farmers, ranchers, and rural families who feed and fuel this great state, and I’m not about to slow down now. We’ve made real progress—cutting red tape, defending our values, and strengthening the backbone of rural Texas—but there’s more work to do. As long as I’m your Agriculture Commissioner, I’ll keep protecting our land, our livelihoods, and our way of life with the same grit and determination that built Texas in the first place.”

If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

If Texans send me back for another term, my priorities are clear: I’m going to keep protecting our agriculture industry from the new threats hitting our state, from invasive pests to diseases that endanger our cattle and wildlife. I’ll strengthen our biosecurity and work with our partners at the border to safeguard the livestock economy that keeps Texas running. And I’ll continue fighting for rural Texas in the Legislature — defending our land, our water, and the communities that make this state great. I’ve never backed down from a challenge, and I’m not about to start now.

What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

Property Taxes & Rural Land Ownership : property taxation as a threat to true ownership. Texans do not own their land if it can be taxed under threat of forfeiture. I will continue to address this important issue by advocating for major property‑tax reform and pushing for legislative policies that reduce and eventually eliminate these burdens on rural landowners.

Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

I’m the best candidate for Texas Agriculture Commissioner because I’ve spent my life fighting for the people who feed and fuel this state. I know the land, I know the work, and I know the challenges our farmers, ranchers, and rural communities face every single day. Under my leadership, we’ve cut red tape, protected private property rights, strengthened our food supply, and stood firm for Texas values when it mattered most. This isn’t a job you learn on the fly — it takes experience, grit, and a deep love for rural Texas. I’ve proven I can deliver, and I’m ready to keep fighting for the future of Texas agriculture.
