Why did you decide to run for this office in 2026?
Current Judge is retiring. With my experience and certified expertise, I field questions from sitting judges and other practicing attorneys on a regular basis. At this point in my career, I think the community would better benefit by service in this position.
If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?
1) Make sure both sides are treated fairly and with the respect they deserve in Court
2)Prioritize the speedy movement of cases to final resolution
3) Awareness of how any ruling affects public safety
What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?
The importance of a speedy trial; The setting of cases for final disposition.
Do you have any notable endorsements you would like to highlight for voters? If this question is not applicable, please write N/A.
The good people of Randall County
Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?
All the candidates in this election are excellent choices. The voters can't make a bad choice, I like every one of them and they are all fine lawyers. I think I'm the best choice of these excellent attorneys because I have, by far, the most experience. Before becoming an attorney, I worked in farming and ranching, and in the Oil and Gas industry. I was a landman for, at the time, the largest corporation in the world. In my 38 years as an attorney I have been both a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. I've tried civil, criminal, family and cps cases to a jury. I have tried more state cases to a jury than all my opponents combined; I have written more state appeals than all my opponents combined; I have tried more federal cases to a jury than all my opponents combined, and I have written more federal appeals than all my opponents combined. I am the only candidate that is recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a legal expert.
