Why did you decide to run for this office in 2026?

To restore integrity to the once honorable Office of Texas Attorney General. I will use the power of government and the Rule of Law to, as Bobby Kennedy once said, "tame the savageness of man, and make gentle the life of this world."

If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

Affordability - I will create and staff within the OAG a Division of Affordability focused on helping young adult Texans afford the American Dream (graduating debt free, getting a good job that pays good wages, home ownership or affordable rent and starting a family).

Elections - I will create and staff within the OAG a Division of Elections and Voter Encouragement to register every high school senior pursuant to Texas Election Code section 13.046(d) and to reverse decades of voter suppression wrought by GOP/Tea Party/MAGA Texas politicians.

Corruption - I will create and staff within the OAG a Division of Ethics and Integrity which will investigate, and with local District Attorneys will take punitive action to respond to, credible complaints of fraud, corruption and crime within Texas Government. The Texas AG DEI will also advocate for term limits, campaign contribution limits, independent redistricting commissions and citizen initiated legislation by petition.

What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

The Attorney General's office has been misused by Ken Paxton to persecute the vulnerable for partisan votes. Instead, the office should be an agency of Texas government that helps all Texans, without regard to polical favor. So, the issue thats been overlooked is this: How can the Office of Texas Attorney General put money in our pocket. In that regard, I propose to do the following:

Collect child support - all of it - and pay it - all of it - to the conservator parent.

Addressing "junk fees": The AG can work to combat the use of excessive and unnecessary fees in the rental market, which can increase the overall cost of renting.

Root out political corruption - that’s the Texas Republican Party “tax” on all working Texans. Fight no bid contracts, expose pay to play politics and hold the legislature accountable for budget tricks just like they do local governments.

Fight vouchers in court, declare them unconstitutional, and make the Texas Legislature suitably provide for an efficient system of public education under Article 7 so your local ISD property tax bill is less.

Fight monopolies in the food and agriculture industries so grocery costs are less.

Fight to collect every possible dollar of Medicaid matching funds - our fair share of federal income tax dollars coming home - so that our county property tax (which funds public health) bill is less.

Sue health and property insurance companies and defend laws to enforce compliance with our good faith and prompt payment laws so health care claims and home repair claims are paid in full and on time.

Defend and protect the Texas Dream Act so all Texas residents can receive in state tuition.

Fight Oncor, CenterPoint and other utilities who soak the PUC system for constant rate hikes. Oppose rate hikes unless proven to be absolutely necessary and insist that they be temporary rather than perpetual. What happened in Winter Storm URI will never happen again.

Do you have any notable endorsements you would like to highlight for voters? If this question is not applicable, please write N/A.

Absolutely. My endorsements are set forth here: https://www.jaworskifortexas.com/endorsements

Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

Texas needs statewide fighters to defeat MAGA extremism. I’m a third-generation lawyer and former mayor of Galveston who has deep family history and a personal record fighting bullies and racists. I’m running as a proud Texas Democrat to serve as Attorney General so you have a battle-tested lawyer you can proudly count on to make life better for us all.
