Why did you decide to run for this office in 2026?

It’s simple, we need to change the narrative in the Comptroller’s Office. The money belongs to the taxpayers, not the government. Right now, the office focuses on collecting revenue. I’ll focus on how that money is being spent, because Texans deserve transparency and accountability at every level.

If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

My goals are simple:

1. Audit Government
2. Expose Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Corruption
3. Fight to Return the Savings to Taxpayers

What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

1. Respect for Taxpayer Dollars - I’m concerned that too many in government forget whose money they’re spending. Every dollar belongs to the taxpayer, not the government.

2. Oversight of Spending - The Comptroller’s Office should do more than track revenue; it should ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely, efficiently, and transparently.

3. The Budget Process Itself - We need to make it simple, transparent, and easy to understand, not just for the Legislature, but for every taxpayer in Texas.

Do you have any notable endorsements you would like to highlight for voters? If this question is not applicable, please write N/A.

I’m honored to be endorsed by top national leaders like U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Charlie Kirk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Riley Gaines. I’m also backed by current and former conservative fighters in Congress including Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Chip Roy, Wesley Hunt, Keith Self, and Brandon Gill. Unprecedentedly, a supermajority of the Texas GOP SREC and nearly every major conservative organization in Texas has endorsed, including Gun Owners of America, Texas Right to Life, and Moms for America. See the full list at donhuffines.com/endorsements.

Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

I’m the only America First, proven conservative in this race, the MAGA candidate who’s actually fought and delivered. I’m the only candidate in this race who has actually exposed and shut down government corruption. I’m also the only one who has never taken a penny of government money, because I believe in serving taxpayers, not living off them. I am not for sale.
