Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Whitfield, Sr. (1934-2018)

Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Whitfield, Sr., 83, of Amarillo, died Monday, June 18, 2018.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Memory Gardens, officiated by Scott Willis, Chaplain at the VA. Military rites are provided by American Legion, Hanson Post 54.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

He was born September 7, 1934, to Lettie and Henry H. Whitfield. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Jerry was veteran of the Korean War, a past officer of the American Legion, and a lifetime member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Oma Lee; a brother, Henry Jr.; and a grandson, Trenton.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth A. Whitfield, a son Jim Whitfield of West Fork, Arkansas, a son Jerry Wayne, Jr., of the home, a son, Patrick Lee Whitfield along with his wife Regena Whitfield, and their two living sons Blain Whitfield and Brady Whitfield of the home, and a sister, Lela Gene Chandler of Payette, Idaho.
