Duane Truman (1928-2017)

Duane Truman, 88, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Memorial Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Paramount Baptist Church with Rev. Andrew Hebert and Rev. Lance Herrington as co-officiants.  A private burial was held in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, TX 79110.

Duane was born December 6, 1928 in Aurora, Minnesota to Henry and Ruth Truman. He proudly served as a U. S. Marine for 3 years. Duane was a repair technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for over 38 years before his retirement. He was a past member of WAGG RV Club, Pharr west Hitchhikers RV Club and the Telephone Pioneers.  Duane was a member of Paramount Baptist Church since 1971 and served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Faye Truman; one son, Ronnie Truman; and two daughters, Carolyn Truman and Marilyn Rogers.

Duane is survived by his wife, Darleen Truman of Amarillo; one daughter, Beverly Wolf and husband, Jay of Amarillo.
